MANUSCRIPT FORMAT

Manuscripts should be double-spaced, at least 1.0” margins left and right, 1” top and bottom, one side of the paper only. Do NOT add extra space between paragraphs. Use only plain white bond paper.

The first line of each paragraph should be indented ½”. Use either Courier (pref. Dark Courier) or Times Roman font, 12 pt. (Times Roman is a proportional font, so you will get more words per page than with Courier, which is monospaced.)

Begin a new chapter approximately one-third down the page.

The writer’s name, title of the novel, and page number should appear as a header at the top left or top right, e.g.: A. Novelist/GREAT AMERICAN NOVEL/8
